The Pellissippi 俶腦惘app Workforce and Community Development office offers noncredit, lifelong learning classes and workforce development training in East Tennessee. Classes are open to the public and cover everything from professional training to self-improvement to personal hobbies.

Take advantage of our years of educational expertise to advance your employees, your company and your business.

We offer a variety of classes throughout the year, including supervision and leadership development, Excel, Quickbooks, welding, NFPA 70E, FANUC robotics and more. If you need a class not currently listed in our schedule, let us know! Private and customized classes can be scheduled by request.

ONLINE CLASSES

We offer a variety of noncredit online certificates and classes to help you grow personally and professionally while on a flexible schedule. There are hundreds of options to choose from with our web-based educational training partners Ed2Go,泭ProTrain泭and泭UGotClass. Browse the certificate and class options listed below based on your needs and interests. If theres a class or topic you cant find, call us泭at泭865.539.7167 and well help you locate what youre looking for.

As you browse class options, each class has a details page listing the syllabus, computer and software requirements and instructor information. Most online classes are instructor-led, allowing you to learn on a structured six-week schedule with instructor moderation and a discussion board, while some classes offer a longer self-paced completion option. With both class structures, there is not a set day or time that you must login to meet with the instructor or other students in the class. You泭are able to泭log into the classroom and participate any time of day or evening.

Whether you want to take a class just for fun, develop your skills or explore a possible career change, our wide range of personal enrichment and career exploration classes can help you meet your goals. Take a class on sign language, writing fiction, SAT/ACT exam prep, medical coding and transcription, stock investments, career exploration in veterinary science and hospitality, business operations and more!泭

Choose from a variety of noncredit certificates in the areas of business, communication, human resources, management, marketing, technology and more. Classes are typically four to six weeks in length, while full certificate programs can take three to four months to complete. Certificate programs start once each quarter.

Complete泭a self-paced online training to obtain or renew your license or certification. Contractors may apply for a Limited License with a BC-A/r classification, which restricts residential contractors to building in the amount of $125,000 or less.

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with online classes designed specifically for teachers. Class topics include solving classroom discipline problems, enhancing language development, empowering students with disabilities, integrating technology in the classroom, RTI reading and writing strategies, teaching math and more.

Whether youre new to IT or just want to update your skills, we offer a variety of online classes and certificate programs to meet your needs. Find a class or certificate program in programming, database design, information security, software development, networking or graphic design.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center in Knoxville, hosted by Pellissippi 俶腦惘app, serves seven counties in East Tennessee. The TSBDC provides small business start-up services泭but not limited泭to泭business plan development, financial planning assistance, marketing plan development, sources of capital泭and泭social media guidance.

FACILITY RENTALS

Pellissippi 俶腦惘app Community College offers state-of-the-art facilities and event services to the public through Workforce and Community Development.

Facilities include the 495-seat Clayton Performing Arts Center, a 150-seat auditorium, a 40-seat executive seminar room, classrooms and many other spaces suitable for speaker events, private and public forums, meetings and lunch/dinner events. Pellissippi 俶腦惘app provides easy access to audiovisual equipment, technical support and泭food service泭as well as free, ample parking.

Facilities are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please call 865.539.7167 or email rentals@pstcc.edu泭to request an application. A completed application must be submitted and approved to reserve space.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Learn what its like to work in the fields of advanced manufacturing, engineering and construction! Our variety of camps offer local high school students the opportunity to meet industry professionals and learn about the types of skills泭needed泭to succeed泭on泭the job. Students will develop a fundamental knowledge of application-based engineering and construction concepts by participating in hands-on projects. Camps are sponsored and hosted by the GIVE Grant, which focuses on increasing awareness of and participation in advanced manufacturing and construction-related careers.

Pellissippi 俶腦惘app, the University of Tennessee, Y-12 National Security Complex and Oak Ridge National Laboratory partner each summer to host the ASM Materials Camp, exposing students to the field of materials science and inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists.

This free week-long camp is designed for students entering grades 9-12 and offers hands-on experience using optical and scanning electron microscopes, mechanical testing and analytical equipment in the state-of-the-art labs at both Pellissippi 俶腦惘app and the University of Tennessee. Throughout the week, students use the scientific process to learn how materials, specifically metals, react to different environments, including properties at various temperatures, bend and break point testing and more.泭
